Start early with a game drive toward the Albert and Victoria Nile areas, searching for elephants, giraffes, antelopes, Uganda kob, buffaloes, waterbucks, lions and rich birdlife. After lunch, enjoy the classic 3-hour launch cruise from Paraa to the base of the falls — a standout experience for hippos, crocodiles and river birds (often including African fish eagles), with occasional elephants along the banks. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

After breakfast, begin the long drive from Murchison to Kibale via Masindi–Hoima–Fort Portal. Stop for lunch in Fort Portal (Gardens Restaurant is mentioned), then continue through changing landscapes and local villages toward Uganda’s primate forests. It’s a long travel day (about 8–9 hours on rougher sections), but you’ll experience real Uganda on the road — including cultural homes and chances of seeing monkeys and forest wildlife on the way.

Early breakfast, then head into Kibale for chimpanzee tracking. After a briefing, the forest walk begins with your site guide leading you through a primate-rich ecosystem where you may encounter L’Hoest monkeys, black-faced colobus, baboons and other forest species. Return to the lodge for lunch, downtime and dinner — a perfect reset before heading south.

Drive toward Bwindi (about 6–7 hours). The route bisects Queen Elizabeth National Park, turning a transfer day into a “moving safari” with chances to see elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs and baboons. Continue via Kasese–Mbarara–Kabale, stop for lunch at Satellite Hotel, and arrive in Bwindi in time for dinner and a calm evening before gorilla day

Day 7 — Gorilla tracking —
The main highlight

Overnight: Lodge in Bwindi area or Kabale/Mbarara (depending on plan)

After breakfast, depart with packed lunch and water for the gorilla trekking briefing and the start of the forest experience. Trek duration varies depending on the gorillas’ location, but the reward is extraordinary: time with a mountain gorilla family in their natural habitat — a true once-in-a-lifetime moment. If time allows, add an evening community walk to connect more deeply with local life around Bwindi.

Day 8 —
Return to Kampala or depart
via Entebbe (scenic drive)

Overnight: Hotel in Kampala
(if not departing same day)
